Should have gone to the flea market…

Today was my first Spanish midterm which went tolerably well. We’ll see how the grade is…I had originally planned to go to the flea market in our 3 hour gap. But I forgot that we had an orientation session on adaptation to a different culture. I should have gone to the flea market, though. The session was a bit strange and not really all that helpful. Be willing to fail, laugh at yourself and be self sufficient is the gist of what I garnered from an hour and half. Then I walked a million miles (I obviously have no idea how far) to our site. And then we walked some more. And some more. The highlight was hitting up park Guell, which apparently has won a bunch of awards. It was pretty interesting and here are some of the highlights…

Everyone was a bit tired of walking...so they decided to play!

An awesome net sculpture...it's about one story high.

A detail shot of a fence.

Then I went to el supermercat where I stocked up for the week to hopefully save some money…I’m headed to Italy for four days at the end of October, Paris for Thanksgiving and Madrid for a weekend. My senora has also talked about going to Norway for a client meeting and I would love to see some fjiords. Teka is actually a Scandinavian name. But I am a quarter Norwegian as well and still have family there. Basically it would be a win win. Tonight I am headed to a nearby bar to watch the Barca vs. Valencia futbol match. Should be fun, but we’ll see.

This is what I saw on my walk to school. It seemed to frame guadi's masterpiece. I also accidently ran into a classmate at this instant.
