Designo en BCN

¡Hola todos! Today I had only my Spanish class. I’ve switched into the original level I was at...but since I missed two days now I’m slightly behind. And the first midterm is Wednesday. Luckily, I am getting a tutor for an hour or so, which should be nice because I definitely have a few detail questions. But the majority of the material I have already done multiple times, so I just need to do a super review!!!

After class (as always) it was playa time!! I’m hoping that I come back with a tan…and considering that I have only put on sunscreen once, it’s likely. (Don’t worry, Mom, I haven’t even burned yet). The beaches are funny here. The water is super salty (as in tastes like a 1 to 1 mix of salt and water) ugh. But it’s super easy to float. All I do is lay on my back. Don’t even have to move my toes. Lol. There are also guys who walk all over the beach saying, “Beer. Cervesa. Cold Beer.” Or, “Mojitos!” Or, “Hola. Massagee?” The massages are usually Chinese women. It is however, a never ending source of amusement. Like all of the unwanted advances, the best thing to do is just ignore and act like you’ve never heard them. In less safe parts of town, I have been hissed at…kind of like a weird click/whistle. But they don’t do anything else if you ignore them, so that’s what I do. (Also that’s what the natives do…)

I finally got fairly lost today. I stepped off the metro and was 180 degrees off in my directions. I finally figured it out in time to be about 10 minutes late to my doctor’s appointment. It is just a little sinus infection. Except now I have to figure out how to get the prescription filled….ay. I spent some time wandering that part of town as well, since I’d never been there. Mostly I love the cosas in Barcelona (BCN for short). I took a bunch of pictures today. There are so many window display ideas that I have no idea how I’ll get photos of them all….but here are a few of my favorites….

A light made of tiny paper flowers with pearl centers.
Purses within in empty gold frames.

A string light...we made the equivalent, albeit less durable, for about $10

The perfect lamps...I would buy one but I have no idea how that would travel.
